The old, abandoned mansion stood lonely on the hill, shutters crumbling and boards creaking as a gentle breeze passed through its rickety frame. A raven seated precariously on the wooden rail of the porch cawed, its shriek piercing the foggy air. The bird's beady eyes were fixated on the trees at the edge of the woods surrounding the mansion. Blinking in and out of existence, a dark form appeared in between two trees. Dressed in a tattered black dress and boots with scraggly blond hair it raised its head, its obsidian eyes meeting those of the bird's. The bird shrieked once more before lifting its wings and disappearing into the dense fog. The space in which the dark form had occupied was now empty, the woods silent.
