I am a vampire and only 113 young. My parents were killed when I was very young so I live by myself. I leave the house at Dusk and fly to the edge of town and land in the woods and live as a bat. If only is was that easy but it’s not so. I feed on livestock in the fields and take fruit to the bats in the caves and watch over the forest and creatures. It’s beautiful at dawn on the hill but I can’t see it anymore because the sun’s rays hurt me, but today I have gave up on life so I don’t care if I live or die. It’s gold and misty with a hint of light blue. It’s so beautiful and warm I wish I could touch it. It’s rays hit me and I cringe at the pain and pull my cape around me. I sit on the hill alone until I look over and a cute boy with short black hair is sitting next to me watching the sunrise like I was. He had blue eyes with a speck of brown and he wore all black and he saw me staring and he smiled. His smile was so white and sweet. He moved closer to me and put his arm around me and we watched the sunrise together. We walked around town the rest of the day and that night we ran in the forest and I showed him my powers. He was amazed not scared or curious he knew what I was from the beginning and he liked me. We walked all night and we came to my house and we ate breakfast and talked about the world and ourselves. He left at noon and before he left he kissed me and said to meet him at sunset on the hill. We met up that night and the moon was full and in the moonlight he gave me a promise ring. We went into the forest so I could show him the black butterflies and glowing moon flowers. We sat in the bright moonlight and talked about the beautiful things in the world. Toward the morning we went back to my home we ate and when we were finished he asked me a scary question. Would I bite him? I told him I would think about it and asked him to think about it. He said he did and he was sure he wanted to be able to live with me forever. I thought about this all day wondering what if I would be able to do it. When dusk came I met him at the edge of town and when the moon was full I told him he would have to not go out in the sun as much because he would shine. We kissed and I said “ Are you completely sure you wish to do this?” He nodded and I had him lean into my lap and I bite him and he  squeezed my hand after I released and he slowly turned paler and his eyes looked at me with passion and he led me into the forest and we swam in the river and kissed all night and when the morrow came we spent the day together and that night also. A few years later when I was 120 he proposed to me and asked me to marry him and I said I would and that night we snuck into the forest and flew to far away places free from transylvania forever. We were bats and we found a castle in england and settled and we grew colonies of colorful fruit bats and when they were ready to fly we released them on our wedding day. It was joyful and lovely and we have lived for all eternity in the arms of each other forever. “ For we are creatures of the night even if we had to make ourselves we are at heart and forever will be.”- KMD
