Kinect is the new, fun way to play video games. Are the games good though? Kinect Motion Sports is one of Kinect’s new games. There’s hang gliding, soccer, football, horseback riding, boxing, and skiing.

In level one for football, all you have to do is duck under bars and jump over small walls. Plus, the controls are delayed. When you jump, the person on the screen takes two extra steps then jumps. It does the same thing when you duck down.

In hang gliding, the controls are quite obvious. To turn left, raise your right arm etc. The first level is pretty easy. Fly to the marker and land, easy.

For soccer, the first level is the penalty shootout. You “place” the ball on the ground by bending down. Then, you shoot the ball. If you run and shoot really fast, it probably won’t sense it and the ball won’t move. You have to shoot really slowly [which is really boring]

When you’re in the game as goalie, it’s really easy. When your opponent takes a shot, the screen stops and you can see where the ball is going in the net. Now, you just dive the way the ball is going. If you dive out of the way of the Kinect sensor, you’ll have to respawn [which gets really annoying having to respawn all the time]

When you play boxing, it’s literally impossible to throw a good punch. Your opponent is usually always blocking. When you punch as fast as you can, it might not sense and your opponent will punch you a couple of times.

I haven’t played horseback riding but my sisters have. They always get mad because they can’t get the horse to move or jump.

In skiing, the controls are simple. It’s almost like you are actually skiing. You get boost when you crouch really low. You can loose and gain speed like in skiing.

I would rate Kinect Motion Sports a six out of ten. I would recommend it for someone who likes video games and sports.
