No one I know has ever heard of this band, and after listening long and hard to this incredible album, I decided that it's my job to get them the fame they deserve.

Masters of Reality, a Syracuse-based band, is Chris Goss (vocals and guitar), Tim Harrington (guitar) "Googe" (bass) and Vinnie Ludeveco (drums). Their self-titled debut features eleven exciting, and varied cuts put together very well. The lyrics are interesting, the music is just about the best I've ever heard, and the whole album is well-done. While the music has many influences: a little Zeppelin, some Aerosmith, some Hendrix, it is a sound really unlike any other band. Tim Harrington is one of my favorite metal/hard rock guitarists, and Chris Goss is a great singer. I think this album is by far the most underrated album of 1989, and it's one of the best albums I've ever listened to. HHHHH

How and Where To Get It

Because it is relatively rare, this album may be hard to find at your local record store. I got it at Nuggets in Coolidge Corner, Brookline for $5.00, and you could probably find it there too, on album or cassette for $5.00 or less; you could probably also get it for about that much at Planet in Kenmore Square, or at Newbury Comics.n
