Phora’s album Love is hell was released October 5, 2018. He told billboard music "I see everyone as competition, Homies, friends, everyone. When I’m in the studio with you, it’s a confidence boost. It pushes me to be better than what I’m doing." Which is one of the reasons that he even makes his music to begin with. The first song that I’m going to review is called “Love Is Hell”. This girl broke his heart and it affected him a lot. “Love is hell, but I’d rather fight demons with you than live amongst the angles without you”. He would put aside his happiness to be with someone who doesn’t want to be with him. “**** love all year, I’ve been going through hell”. He has had a tough year with the breakup and dealing with his feelings. “Buss It Down” He is accepting that he might have messed up in the relationship but he is missing her in this song. “Trying to numb the pain with these drugs right now”. He does not want to accept his feelings and what pain he put her and himself through. He doesn’t want to accept what this may mean for his future. “I know I ain’t perfect, but I’m tryin’ to fix it”. He wants to prove himself to her showing that he has changed and that it is ok for her to come back to him.

“Stuck In My Ways Again”, in this song it sounds like he had hope that they were going to get back together. She gave him a little hope but she threw that out the window. “She said I love you but I need to stay away from you” That would mess with someone's brain a lot it would completely impact on how you view that one person or how you view life. “Everybody fake, everybody two faced, everybody in it for themselves, uh”. Showing that throughout his life he has multiple people do him dirty and stab him in his back, and that it still affects him to this day. “For You” I would say that it sounds like he has changed and is trying to get back with his ex. “I’m still down for you I’ll stick around for you”. Showing that if he could he would go back with his ex. “Everything I did surrounded you thats why your the one I’m grounded too”. His ex was his life not

just a part of it, and now he doesn’t know what to

do.”I’ll wait the longest if you comin’ back because our loves the strongest”. Proving that he wants his ex to come back even though he could hurt just as bad or even worse. “Direction” I think that this song is about when he was lost in all his feelings he just needed some help someone to help him through it all. “I just wanna love you tell me can I trust you?” He is just getting through the breakup but he doesn’t know if he can trust the same anymore. “But I heard through the grapevine your heart’s been broke like mine”. Showing that he could relate to someone so maybe he could trust again. “I push away ‘cause I’m numb still, I get scared and I run still”. Even though he thought he ready, he was wrong. His head wanted to trust but his heart could not go through all the pain again.
