As October comes around the usual amount of horror films arrives in theater, as of The Possession's mediocre arrival the House at the End of the Street stands off as no different. While Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games, X-Men First Class) is usually a solid actress, the role she chose in this film does not stand up there. To start off the dialogue in the film is as bad as most teen horror films go. Along with its awkward phrasings and unnatural conversations you cant feel a good relation to the characters. The plot is the typical recycled story of a girl in a new town and is quite borrowing to follow or to even care about. In all the only thing to keep this film going is the plot twist near the end of the film. Even though providing a few minutes of thinking back to recap whats happened after it, the effect slowly wears off and the cliche ending commences. Overall what you would expect from a film such as this. 3/10
