Easy A, a movie that depicts drama of high school and is overall a great comedy with a meaningful message. It started out with a little white lie, and escalated to something enormous. Olive Pendergast (Emma Stone) was only trying to make her peers in high school notice her, but things didn't go as she planned. Soon we see Olive labeled as a common w****, when in reality she was helping others by protecting their reputation, by sacrificing her own. I praise Olive for helping others, at her own expense.
A parallel connection is made is Hester Prynne, in the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorn. This novel is being read by Olive in her English class. Both Hester and Olive are innocent people at heart, but are condemned, misunderstood and judged by their hypocritical society.
I highly recommend this movie to all those who are looking for a comical, yet serious movie at the same time.
