The book, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneors is a very good book. I think people should read it because this book is like the real world it isn't always sunshine and daisies, sometimes you have to wake up and see the big picture, and I think this book can teach kids that lesson.

The House on Mango Street is a coming-of-age story of a young chicana girl named Esperanza Cordero. The book is told in small vignettes which acts as both chapters and prose poems. A major character in the book is Esperanza. She is the heart and soul of this story. Esperanza is the protaganist, narrator, and the person who develops and changes the most over the course of the novel.

The setting in the novel is on Mango Street, in a low-income Latino neighborhood of Chicago.
