Stargirl by Jerry Spinnelli

I just finished reading Stargirl today. The author is Jerry Spinnelli. His style of writing was very detailed and really made you picture certain scenes from the book, giving great visual images. I enjoyed the book, but as always it could've been better. One thing I didn't like about the book was that the author made it seem like high school kids can be molded and controlled so easily as in Stargirl. She's the main character and is new to a small, boring school and pretty much turns it upside down. Everyone finds her not exactly wierd, but at the same time they don't know how to interpret her. The whole student body when from sheer amazement, to pretty much worshipping her, to something as if "shunning" Stargirl. All she wants to do is be a nice person and make the world a better place but the corrupted minds of high schoolers interferes with that. In the beginning, its a little confusing and it makes you almost want to stop reading it, but as you keep reading its gets alot better. In conclusion, I think its a good book to read to pass the time.
