Unlike the typical gore-fest that horror authors rely on to give the reader that "scare" their looking for, the King once again sets the bar in the suspense filled horror fiction novel Cujo. This novel centers around a Saint Bernard named Cujo who changes into a rabid beast throughout the book, terrorizing a woman and her young son. The novel relies on tension rather than random scares, as a good horror novel should. Also, Stephen King's descriptive prowess are at full effect in Cujo as he describes everything in painstaking detail. Overall Cujo focuses on the build rather than the bulk, making it hard to recommend because the shocking climax just can't be missed
