This book is about a young teen that is adopted, and discovers that the birthmark on her hip can be more than a birthmark. She finds out so much not just about herself but about her biological parents. One of her best friends died after a mysterious drowning, and the other one is distorted and becomes over protective of Maya. Even more when she cougars have a thing for Maya and so does the mysterious bad boy. He moves into her small town in Vancouver Canada. He has gotten away with all of the other girls. Making her determined not to let him get to her, but she fails in the attempt she meets the real him and sees that he has the same birthmark.
