Imagine a story about survival, where all you have is yourself and a hatchet. In Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, Brian Robeson, a young teenager is the victim of a plane crash in the Canadian woods and is in just that situation. There he faces every challenge you could imagine from just finding food to battling moose. Then the worst possible thing happens, he gets hit by tornado. The tornado destroys everything he has created in the woods and again he’s left with just himself and his hatchet. To see if he ever escapes the cold unforgiving Canadian woods read the book.

This is one of the greatest books that I have ever read. Gary Paulsen keeps the book as exciting as possible, just when you think the action has all settled it starts back up with a bang. I would recommend this book to young teens because the main character in the book is a young teen. This was a thrilling adventure that kept me interested the whole time. I would rate this book five stars without question.
