Have you ever felt like an outcast? Melinda a freshman at Merryweather high school knows exactly how you feel. She started her freshmen year off on a bad foot when an event at party causes her to call to cops .She was speechless when police answered when the police arrived some people at the party got arrested at and she has been hated for it since.

And now that school started everything has been going down hill for Melinda: her grades all except art which she had an A in, couldn’t stop biting her lip, lost friends and even started to skip classes. And On top of all that “IT” won’t leave her alone always following her. “IT” is trying to get her do stuff. Will “IT” leave her alone?

I really enjoyed this book and I think it has a great theme of identity. I think anybody from ages12 to 15 would really enjoy this book .It is very hard to put down and I hope Speak touches you like it did me.
