Vietnam Protesters

Stop This War by Margot Fortunato Galt is about the struggles of the war protesters during the Vietnam War. I think it is good the author decided to write about these people, because they get little recognition on the war. Even though they had a large impact on it.
These people went through a lot of hardships just to be heard. When they finally were heard, they were just beaten, arrested, and sometimes even killed. Many people did not agree with the protesters. For example, one government official said, “They want to stop the war over there, but they are starting a war over here.”

I think that the author did a good job in explaining all the hardships that the protesters went through. Although in the book the author did write about the same stuff a lot. Like they would protest, then be arrested. That goes on for awhile throughout the book.

I would recommend this book to anybody who is interested in Vietnam or hippies. Compared to other books on Vietnam, it is very different. Most books just focus on the actual war. As this book focuses on the war that was taking place at home.
