In "Long Distance Man" in the October issue of Teen Ink, I was moved by the author's opinion on running. Being a runner it is very easy to relate to this selection. Running is a mental sport. It takes a lot to finish a long and tiring run. It takes even more out of you to even practice each and every day. When running you just feel this dead weight. Your body begs to stop, everything burns and aches. But something in your head keeps you running forward and pushing towards the finish. There is no one to push you when running. You get back what you put in so sometimes it is worth going the extra mile.
