In Samantha Yoo's article "Past the Sneakers", the main character describes his deep guilt after indirectly killing his little sister. He let her sit in the front seat of his car, and she was killed after an accident. He claims that if she had been in the back, she would have been saved. After reading this article, I was left wondering what I would have done in that situation. Maybe I would have the same reactions as the main character; pain, depression, and helplessness. Overall, I know I would have that overbearing sense of guilt hanging over my head. Who wouldn't?
