The writing titled “NO Means NO”, written by CJ Albrecht, talks about victims of rape. The writing left me feeling heartbroken. The author explains that we are taught to say “no” when we don’t want to do something the makes us uncomfortable. Then they go on to explain “one in five women and one in 71 men will be read in their lifetime.” This shows that we, as a society, have to change the way that we teach kids and teens how to behave. Show them that when someone says no that they mean no and to respect that. The author also says “every 1000 cases that 994 rapist walk away free.” This means that only six get caught and the others just go back to living their life not knowing how it affected the victims. Most victims are blamed in these situations. People say its the way they dress, act or talk. That is simply not the case. When someone says no the other person needs to realize that they don't want to do it and to respect them.
