Shattered Heart
The pain seems to tear you apart
Tears fill your soft eyes
As those who hurt you tell many lies
Pieces of shattered love
Once held the innocence of a wild dove
Rain falls down mirroring your tears
As you try to run from your fears
Eyes that once shone like the stars above
They are now shattered and void of love
In the dark of night, you cry
As you feel it get to hard to try
Yet here I'll be
I'll stay even if it's just you and me
you are shattered
And I'm here to show you that you always mattered
So dry your lone tear
Cause I'll always be here
Your shattered heart I'll repair
And when I'm finished I'll treat it with care

The author's comments:

I had seen people around me who had experience hardships at one point or another. I wanted to express in this poem that I can see this pain and I want to be there and help them.
