Soul Mate

To be companioned by a friendly soul,

To banish solitude into the dark

Expanse of deeply, distant, hidden shoals

And in its place, forgiveness placed his mark.

The bonded heart, a casket filled with tears.

Abandon thoughts of loneliness in graves.

Distress no longer sits outside your door.

Familiar faces sing duets, and they

Go off together, hand in hand. With you,

I am no longer fearful, but content.

A faithful confidant, my heart warms to

Your smile, my refuge, a safe shelter tent.

I once was in the wilderness alone,

But I have found comfort beneath the sand.
