When fall arrives in waves of reds and golds,
she feels the colors melting her hard heart.
The joy of life beginning to unfold,
and she can feel the summer's heat depart.
But autumn lasts for but a whispered word,
and golden truths start flutt'ring to the ground.
The lines between the chill and cold are blurred,
and icy crystals soon start to surround
the autumn's crisp and cool melodic tones.
The frosty fingertips of winter break
the fragile things that are the autumn's bones,
promising there's nothing it will take.
But winter's word are full of muted lies,
for that is when the living beauty dies.
