On Grey Horses

September 7, 2013
By Anonymous

On grey horses road the banner,
Whispering amongst the wind,
It bore a broken heart and hammer,
The grip was swaying, the strength worn thin.
I feel it slipping from my fingers,
I fear the forest starts to sway,
The stars they dance, the demons linger,
The night is dark, the way is grey,
I wander as a fading specter,
The heart in pieces, hammer lost,
To dwell in dreams, silent, endure,
The night is creeping; I fear the frost.

Beautifully done! The rhyming and rhythm are exquisite, and the metaphors are vivid and real. I enjoyed reading it!
