listening to rain thundering above
I burrow ever deeper into bed
trying to remember thoughts of love
nightmares whispering around my tired head
fighting with flying colors I hold on
onto those memories that matter most
beating back the nightmares trying to con
latch’in on to me I being a host
desperately I grasp for the days of old
wanting to surround myself within them
longing for those sweet summer days foretold
repelling the dark I clutch bright their jem
no longer shall nightmares cause me to weep
thundering above soon sings me to sleep
