Favorite Quote:
"It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone." - Vita Sackville-West

Through the looking glass, soft and clear
Appears as grand image softened by time
And vivid, bright memories of laughter and sunshine,
A season of bliss untouched by the years.

Vignettes of a season of endless sun,
Of unrivaled joy, of sweet summer nights,
And dreams of happiness ever therein.

For as I reflect on time gone by,
I see a girl with laughing eyes,
As she gazes at distant city lights
And dreams of what lie in distant skies.

The young girl with the laughing eyes,
With the outspoken dreams of adventures grand—
She's got the world in the palm of her hand.

Yes, I've got the world in the palm of my hand.

Written about the best summer I've ever had. I was feeling nostalgic and writing about it was the only way I could feel better, so I wrote this. This has to be my favorite poem I've written. :)
