Girl Struggles

Who is it do you normally turn to,
When you really feel you cannot be strong?
Even if you’re unable to push through;
You’ve even endured this pain far too long.

They cut our wings when we try to be free.
It’s not that boys don’t understand the pain;
They just don’t help out when things get messy.
We want to be heard! We want to explain!

Others exasperate without knowing;
Are they blind, why doesn’t anyone see?
Ridiculing our looks while still growing-
Why does it matter, can’t they let us be?

Tired and all we want to do is whine
We then ask to ourselves “Should I just quit?”
Frustrated and losing all sense of time,
We are going to have a screaming fit!

We rely on drugs, ‘cause it’s the way out.
Don’t they know that we girls always suffer?
When we’re caught, it’s like drowning in our doubts.
It’s not easy, each day’s always tougher.

You got yourself, and whoever is down,
You’re stressed? Don’t go striking up that lighter
Forget the fakes, whose true will stick around.
Girls heads up, cause tomorrow is brighter.

So when you’ve lost faith and about to choke,
What’s good seems impossible; you have hope.
