Why am I dead?
Why am I lost?
I can't see ahead,
or count the lives lost.
When my journey is near,
or when it is far.
One thing is clear,
as I follow the stars.
I know where I'm going,
Even without sight.
By day, nothing is showing.
So I travel by night.

The author's comments:
I wrote this after my sister ran away. She had no clue where she was going... but she came home. She had been gone for a few months before she came back.
