Letting Go

You said I was your world, your everything. You made a promise that you would not leave, it was a lie. To you, I meant nothing. You lead me on, I began to believe.

Why did you do that? You played with my heart. Now, all I have are painful memories. I should not have fallen from the true start. This lesson helped me set my boundaries.

Don't get me wrong though, I still miss your voice. I'm trying to get over you but it's rough. But you abandoned me, which was your choice. Got me thinking that I'm not good enough:
I'm going to forget you and your lies,
It's time to see the the world with brand new eyes.

I wrote this sonnet based on a true experience I went through. This may also occur to many teens as well. By reading it, I hope people will understand that things aren't always perfect and in order to move on, you have to let go of the past.
