Ever gone

Sonnet 18

In mine memory you dwell during starry nights,
And while writing poetry by my side you remain;
You were my summer and all its bedazzling lights,
When you were near, there was no gloom or pain,
I wrote you back then, and I still write you now,
Even though I will never see your love or grace,
Because I won’t forget you, and I not know how
My life can go on, if my eyes don’t see your face
Or feel your golden hair or touch your sweet red lips
Back then, my love, your mere presence did to me
What the stars do to the night- but now mine is unlit
And until it will stay, until our hearts together be
For as long as the eye of heaven shines or the infinite sky is blue
This poet will have no other muse, for his heart remains with you.
