Sonnet To Cinderella

So where, my dear, are we to go and sit
After we leave the town where we doth hail
Holding fast to beliefs that claim our wit
And take away all things that thus prevail
I see the courage that shines in your eyes
When I finally try to hold you near
But I cannot swear that I claim no lies
After you, in agony, relish in fear
I’m frail and hurt; afraid, but I can’t care
For I am in a mystic land. Oh how
Gold is gold and beauty is ev’rywhere
In this place where I, nay, we are in now!
Cinderella, my love, my heart, will I
Find you alone in that darkening sky?
