Can forever be long enough?
Maybe if I'm with you.
Maybe if your what I'll see in the morning
Maybe if your something I can hold on too

Maybe if you'll still love me
after my beauty is gone
once my wrinkles grow in
and my eye sight isn't strong

Maybe if you'll be there
to help me every single night
to coo our beautiful baby
to make sure they sleep tight

Maybe if you take me,
someplace dazzling and bright
Maybe if you get down on one knee,
and ask me to be in your life

Maybe if you hold me,
and brush back the hair from my face
tell me to have patience,
and not worry away

And Maybe if you tell me,
one more time,
that forever doesn't sound so bad
as long as your mine.

The author's comments:
What inspired me to write this piece is my high school sweetheart. I hope people will see the surreal beauty of aging, life, and love in this poem .
