When you left my side my heart went with you,
Replacing the sun in the sky with rain;
Drowning out my tears since you said adieu,
As I try to swallow the heartfelt pain.
Despite what others said, I fell anyway.
Knowing that you might not come back to me,
But on the battlefield where you will lay,
All the way across the leagues of the sea.
Do not fret my love we will meet once more.
Where the angels sing a Heavenly tune.
There I will wait for you at the Golden Door.
Though I hope that day will never be soon.
My love for you I will never let die;
Even if this is our final good-bye.
