She wonders straight, from point A to point B.
Avoids all contact, not being noticed.
Unwilling, unknowing, of what should be,
the boy stands blankly, as if being menaced.
She catches his eyes, he stares unaware.
she knows he's gazing, and picks up her stride.
He panics and dreads, sends up a small prayer,
asking for help, or to give him a guide.
He's clenching his fists, and holding his fears.
He walks up to her, a nervous pale wreck.
Stops inches away, his hope reappears.
A humble hey, followed by a bold peck,
surely this couple will be forever
shall never forget this first endeavor
