One Letter

The letter came today,
The one no one wants to come to their door.
Now you only have one place to stay,
As I read this letter I hit the floor.

Now I go tell our son,
Why his hero wont be coming home.
I don’t think the crying will ever be done.
‘Cuz in heaven you now roam.

As I pack up your things,
I smile and think,
You finally have your wings
But I’m missing a link.

Being happy is now simple,
Knowing that I will see you again.
But then I get to thinking,
I don’t like not knowing when.

It will be my time soon,
I will be going to see you.

I love tihs... one of my friends just enlisted and I love the positive message at the end! If you could take a look at my poem that would be great!

This is a really cool topic, and surprisingly positive! I love the ideas you're working with, but I feel like it could be cleaned up to be a bit more snappy. I do love the rhyme and message though. Very good. If you have time, take a look at some of my stuff. :)
