Set Thy Heart On Fire

January 16, 2011
By Anonymous

Set thy heart on fire
T’would be naught but fair
For you tore mine into a thousand pieces
And scattered them through the air

I once stood by thy side
Eons passed as i stayed, transfixed

By thy false countenance
And a yearning for thy lips

Did thou ever shed a tear
As i moved away from thee
Did your poise never break?
Did you never dream of me?

You were my foolish addiction
And I broke thy hold
So throw away that wasted heart
For it has no place in thy dark soul
