Somewhere Beyond the Stars
I wonder what is out beyond the stars
A girl, with eyes as white and pure as moonbeams
Her skin and array of lights from cars
Her life so different from the lives we see
Her hair the color of a black onyx stone
As it shines against our stars’ other sides
She waits for someone to return her home
But I imagine her with a mind like mine
With thoughts that dance free on fatal cliffs
Without ropes of logic to tie her down
She thinks of her dearest wish
To see those who live in a world, unfound
Past what all her school books teach,
Beyond the stars and out of reach
