My first look as long as the lake
Catches my eye slightly as it sways
The most beauty was in the second take
Carelessly gazing upon her as she lays

Her lights glisten bright blue in the water
Notoriously the murkiest around
Purifies as it lays underneath her
As if the lake's soul has been found

I look away at the others to compare
When i look back she has gone
The water turns dismal from fair
My life blackens daily even in dawn

My first look as long as the lake
The most beauty was in the second take

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem about a former girlfriend who i did not appreciate nearly as much as i do now. Now that she has gone, she is so much more perfect.
