Sonnet to Dreams

August 5, 2010
I completely lost all hope in flying,
Until I found out the Wright Brothers could.
I completely lost all hope in trying,
Until I found out that failure is good.
I almost lost all hope in Seattle,
Until I heard "Drain You" by Nirvana.
I almost lost all my hope in battle,
Until I saw the courage of Sparta.
And now together we wade through our hope;
Never before have we seemed so naive.
But dreaming is the way that we youth cope,
And the proof of others helps us believe.
All our combined hope and all of their proof,
Stand and recognize the dreams of the youth!

i really like the message in this, it's great! it definitely inspires me. my favorite part is the first four lines. the only thing is, the rhyme scheme sort of got lost towards the middle, and then got back on track towards the end. check out my poem, "The Window to the Right," please?
