Truths are Manny

Leave your hopes by the lamp post
Get them dried by the rain,
Tell me what you want most
All that you want to gain
I know the prices are too high
To ride the heavens on a horse
But if you’re patient I will try
For you I will, of course
Give me some flower’s petals
They’ll pass for pennies and dimes
And leave the precious metals
To the fools with the chimes
Look out for monsters with false names,
Even if their fangs are nice,
They play upon you, cruelest games
Masters of the foe and vice
Truths are many, choose the one
That you admire the most,
For your life has just begum
Don’t you dare become a ghost!
Leave the window open wide
Let buzzing sound its way
Let my laughter be your guide
Through the darkness and the day
Show me you can jump in joy
As mad men often do
When they recall the little boy
From which they come-they grew
Truths are many, that’s the truth
Take your side on either side
You’re an old man in his youth
Let my laughter be your guide.
