Three words, always spoken
But what do they mean?
Is it deep feelings awoken,
Or emotions unseen?

Do they explain the gut wrenching feeling
You get when you see him,
Or an electric fire that sends the other reeling?
Making your soul no longer dim

Are those words immature,
Yet filled with passion?
If you say them and you are unsure,
You’ll just be another part of the latest fashion

So always be true
When you tell someone “I love you…”

The author's comments:
I wanted this sonnet to show the meanings behind telling some one you love them and the reasons you might say so. I wanted the reader to create their own images about love, and passion. I felt that this poem could show that kids use the term “I love you” in a very loose way, not realizing the true meaning of why some one says they love someone.

You get ideas from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time. The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we're doing it- Neil Gaiman.

I love this poem! It's very clever and witty. (Is that how you spell it?) Very original. You should check out my poem too! >.<
