Trail of Tears

As I cry,
You should care why,
Instead-
I’ve lost you on my trail of tears.
I’ve been there for you,
Always cared for you,
But Now-
I’ve lost you on my trail of tears.
As I travel along this path of pain,
You act as if it’s all the same,
And So-
I’ve lost you on my trail of tears
As you left,
You left behind,
A frightfully exciting new path all mine-
Freedom!
The knowledge helps to fuel me on my way,
Away from the curse of a trail of tears.
And I know that someday-
Not to soon-
But not far away
I’ll think of you,
In a different, calmer and brighter way.
