Chapters

Too many years in this town
So empty the memories of the past
One glance up is ten more glances down,
I can’t seem to make the serenity last

As these uneven days roll over me
I feel the weight inside my skin
Grasping at anything, a solitary plea
I need a constant when the world starts to spin

Continuous combat within my own mind
An opaque veil disables my sight
Looking for something I don’t want to find
Trying to win a battle I don’t want to fight

I’ll never unearth the key to this secluded cage
Time to start a new chapter, but I can’t seem to turn the page

this poem represents the darker times in life, and anyone who has had times such as these will hopefully be able to relate to it.
