Make each day your masterpiece

Running through the dark I found myself

Approaching the red river revealing the monster

I approached the wavy water cautiously

I grew closer to the monster and felt a connection

Near me the hummingbirds played a sorrowful melody

Almost foreshadowing the killing that would inevitably occur

My fingers grasped the cold and rigid steel pole

Blindly I threw it, hoping to find the game before night came

And so it came swiftly and vanished

Alone, isolated, and one with the world around me

I walked to the paved road with my key

Turning the ignition, I rode home with my latest captures

The remorse hit randomly for I realized I was not brave

Rather I was the real monster creeping in the dark
