Why Me

By , Myerstown, PA

I feel deaf even though I can hear.

Words whirl around me,
I know they're there,
but I can't hear them.
The background noise,
a waterfall concealing
all noise I want to hear.

Why me? Why me?
Why have this fate,
to suffer in words unheard?
Why me? Why me?
To drown in this unfortune,
I suffered the pain with no result.

I feel I'm deaf in other ways,
looks confuse me as well.
Are they mean?
Are they kind?
Are they looking at me at all?
They all make my head spin.

Why me? Why me?
Why have this fate,
to suffer in words unheard?
Why me? Why me?
To drown in this unfortune,
I suffered the pain with no result.

The teacher drones on and on,
in my various classes.
The words like langue,
I'm not trained to understand.
Could they be louder?
Could the class be quieter?
Just for me?

Why me? Why me?
Why have this fate,
to suffer in words unheard?
Why me? Why me?
To drown in this unfortune,
I suffered pain with no result.

People don't understand.
I don't hear them, they don't hear me.
While I feel as if,
I'm physically going deaf,
it's better than
not listening because you don't care.

Why me? Why me?
Why have this fate,
to suffer in words unheard?
Why me? Why me?
To drown in this unfortune,
I suffered the pain with no result.

Why me? Why me?
Why have this fate,
to suffer in words unheard?
Why me?
