I was oustide a stuffy place the other day,

and all the dumb people didn't know many

words to say

But there was a fellow, outside the gates,

responding to rich men's working class hate:
"'So it goes', as my friend Kurt would proclaim,

and I hope that you drown in your useless

fame"

Chorus:

They were two gargoyles,

guarding the slaves

Nobody like them, for

their job was to save

you.

And the other lad, from the

opposite side, would stand

quite serene, observing the words

that were used to lie,

but he was far more from passive,

I'm glad to say, for he carried

large signs asking for higher work pay,

Not for himself, I'd like to explain, for he was the only

kind fellow who was not yet insane

(chorus again)

And back to the fellow, off to the

right.  Our contrary calamity, in

search of a fight.  But he won't

use knives, don't get me wrong

For instead he will use, his

friend's protest song.

(chorus again)
