Child of imperfection,
A man of many flaws,
Bearer of the mark of shame,
My name brings nothing but disgrace.

I am a fallen angel,
My wings were ripped off long ago.
A dark past lies behind me,
And I’ve wandered a twisted road.

I made mistakes in my past,
My promises weren’t meant to last.
Yet I must recover from the fall.
To achieve my dreams I must reverse it all.

Somehow, tonight
I will rinse the blood off of my hands.
No longer hide in shadows,
Be reborn a different man.
At dawn I’ll fly
Towards the palace of the king.
The past is all behind me now.
Tonight I shall regain my wings.

I see a light in the distance,
Redemption seems so far away.
I wonder if I’ll make it there.
I sense many tests that lie in store for me.
