I lay in a field of grass
As the wind begins to pass
I hear the wind blowing in my ear
Taking away all my fear

The grass on the ground tickles my arm
Telling me people can do no harm
Telling me this is a safe place to rest
That this is a warm, safe little nest

The sky above me is clear and blue
With birds that fly proud and true
There is no cloud in my sight
Just the sun and its bright light

A smile is growing on my face
As I get comfortable in this place
As I pick the flowers from the place I lie
The alarm clock sounds and I open my eyes

What inspired me to write this poem is that feeling you get while you're having a good dream while your reality is falling to pieces. In your dreams, you feel safe and you don't want to leave but eventually, you have to wake up.
