Once they said, it cannot be done.
Once they said, it cannot be won.
Where did we go wrong, when did we lose our sight?
Now we say, throw your fists up and fight.

Jump to the gun and finish the race,
Run from the few but the rest you’ll chase.
Power to the ones who count their steps.
All the while the kings and the queens, would race again in their dreams.

Down each hole and behind each face,
The ones before have now been replaced.
The wind and the rain will wash away our trace.
And down, down, down we go.
And down, down, down we fall.

A compass to the blind, and a tune for the deaf.
In circles we walk, around the kingdom we left.
But bound to rise, we dance to the horizon line,
With everything lost there is so much to find.
What is ahead, is no longer behind.

On these two feet we wallow, to the stepping stones.
Gone are the fears, we are no longer alone.
The clocks will tick again,
The first steps into the unknown.
And up, up, up we climb
And up, up, up we shine.

The author's comments:
I currently invest my loose time in the recent creation of an organized music group that I lend my percussive hobbies towards. In the extension of the validity of our band I have taken the time to dive into the depths of originality and this piece is my vessel and I deemed it wise to submit it as a competitor of literature, Cheers.
