Write fast. Write far.

May and I
Met in a garden
Overlooking the sea
They told us we never looked happier
Than that day

We just laughed it off
And spent the day dreaming
As warm winds rolled over white beaches

I never tasted strawberries
I never trusted honey bees
Until May came along
Now I know the sweet
But now I know the sting
Thanks to May

May and I
We had our share
Of misunderstandings
They told us we wouldn't make it
But we had to try

We didn't know it yet
But it was already over
As a cold front moved towards us from the North

I never did believe in salvation
I never believed in damnation
Until May came along
Now I know of heaven
But now I know of hell
Thanks to May

May was cloudy
May was fair
May once told me magic bonds
Surrounded us everywhere

But then one day
Magic bonds broke
And May screamed and stormed away
And left me alone, wishing, waiting, weeping

Now I know the sweet
But now I know the sting
Thanks to May
