Live like you were dying. Don't die and wish you had lived while you were alive.

-"Erica" by Amber Dulin

Sittin there by the kitchen counter
Not carin about the hour
Mixin cookies in our big yellow bowl
Puttin the cookies on the stones
Not carin about straight rows
Just havin a mommy daughter day

She didn't bring me into this world
But I’m still her little girl
She took me into her home
Gave me a life of my own

My mama taught me how to live
To cope with things through the thick and thin
No matter what comes my way
To give thanks to God everyday
Told me to follow my dreams
Take every shot I get
My mama taught me how to live

As I write this song
It doesn't take long
To realize what my life really is
Without her I wouldn't be where I am
Without her I wouldn't know how to take a stand

My mama taught me how to live
To cope with things through the thick and thin
No matter what comes my way
To give thanks to God everyday
Told me to follow my dreams
Take every shot I get
My mama taught me how to live

She's there when I am hurt
She's there when I just wanna give in
When I don't wanna go no further
She helps to the end
And no matter if I'm on the stage
Or getting on her last nerve
My mama loves me to the end

'Cause mama taught me how to live
To cope with things through the thick and thin
No matter what comes my way
To give thanks to God everyday
Told me to follow my dreams
Take every shot I get
My mama taught me how to live

My mama said that all she wanted from me on her birthday this year was me singing songs on a CD... I am not sure how I am going to record them...But I am going to surprise her with this song. She doesn't know that I wrote it so..shhhhh
