Stop Saying Goodbye

I wanted you to love me
I wanted you to stay, saying
Baby, baby, please
Don’t walk out the door that way
I was on my knees
Crying a river beneath my feet
Just when I got over you
You came back again

(Chorus: Stop saying goodbye
Stop walking out the door
I don’t know what to think
I don’t know if I love you anymore
Stop saying goodbye
Before we make our plans
If you leave now, if you go now
You can never come back again
So stop saying goodbye)

Every time you walk out the door
You come right back ‘round again
Every time you leave me alone
You show up like a bad penny again
I can’t deny you, can’t defy you
Because I want you to stay
I want you to love me
But never in this way

(Chorus)

You know this is the last time I’ll ever
Let you in, let you underneath my skin
Don’t come back, don’t come back
Don’t rip my heart out again…

Stop saying goodbye
Stop running out the door
Stand still so I can peg you
I don’t love you anymore
Stop saying goodbye
I wanna shove you out the door
Leave now, go now
I’ll leave you crying on the floor
This is the last time
We say
Goodbye

What did you like about it/what resonated with you? I usually write stuff that's really directed, like at myself or at a specific other person, and I'm trying to work on putting out broader songs...any advice?
