Bullet Through My Heart

Does he not see the pain I'm in?
The tears streaming down my chin,
Does he not know the hurt he's caused me?
Does he not see what I'm holding in?
His bullet struck me through the heart,
As if I was doomed from the whole start
But I don't accept that, I won't accept it
I won't ever us let us part

As I laid there,
This pool around me,
I couldn't help but feel so cold.
In a simple a mess,
Something just so tragic,
How could I have been so bold?
I tried to fight the rising odds,
I could never let them win.
And as I look back now,
My life before me,
I spread myself too thin.

Does he not see the pain I'm in?
The tears streaming down my chin,
Does he not know the hurt he's caused me?
Does he not see what I'm holding in?
His bullet struck me through the heart,
As if I was doomed from the whole start
But I don't accept that, I won't accept it
I won't ever us let us part

The fourth shell casing,
It's been months now
Since I saw the first one fall,
My body bucked
And the lead had struck me
Was it nothing or was it all?
I felt the anguish, I felt the pain
Of a thousand or more strong men
And not once did he realize
The strength in his gun
Or how I had felt back then

Does he not see the pain I'm in?
The tears streaming down my chin,
Does he not know the hurt he's caused me?
Does he not see what I'm holding in?
His bullet struck me through the heart,
Through my soul like a poison-tipped dart.
But I'll try to fight it, I cannot hide it.
I'm a blood stain on your art.

I cannot feel the pain I'm in,
The blood streaming down my chin,
I don't know the hurt he's caused me,
I don't see what I'm holding in.
His bullet struck me through the heart,
As if I were doomed from the whole start,
But I don't accept it, I can't accept it,
I can't ever let us part.
